"We are strong kids. We are a team." A group project by our "Clever Cats" for the prevention and intervention of exclusion.
Promoting respectful and inclusive interaction plays an important role in our daycare center. The project aims to recognize exclusion and discrimination among each other at an early stage and to take preventative measures to counteract it. On the one hand, children should be made aware of the problem and, on the other, encouraged to develop and implement their own solutions.
It was based on the idea that an appreciative and supportive environment is crucial for the positive development of children.
A central component of the project was to raise awareness of the signs of exclusion and bullying.
The children were actively involved in the project. With the help of age-appropriate exercises and games, they learned to develop empathy, resolve conflicts non-violently and view differences as enrichment. They were taught strategies that enable both those involved and those not involved to act courageously in the event of exclusion. The children were visited by the Kreusjugendring. Grit (social education worker) presented the children's book "Der Traurige Alex" by Johanna Jacky - a story about a fox who is teased by the other animals.
The project focused on promoting social skills, developing an increased awareness of the importance of cohesion and respect and strengthening the self-confidence of each child.
The project "We are strong kids. We are a team." helped to promote an inclusive society. By learning to accept differences and respect each other from a young age, children lay the foundations for peaceful and harmonious coexistence in the future.
