🌞 Sun protection in the daycare center - We protect what is important to us
With the first warm rays of sunshine and longer days, spring is on its way - and with it, the time for our children to spend more time in the fresh air. Especially in April, the weather slowly starts to get nicer and we look forward to playing, discovering and learning outside together.
Why sun protection is so important
Children's skin is much more sensitive than that of adults and needs special protection from UV radiation. For this reason, sun protection has a firm place in our daycare center routine - preventive, conscious and child-friendly.
☀️ How we implement sun protection in everyday life:
- Look at the UV index together: The children learn how to read it and why it is important.
- Creaming becomes a ritual: daily creaming with sunscreen is done together and consciously.
- Suitable clothing: Light, protective clothing with sleeves, a sun hat and sunglasses are a must.
- Projects & discussions: We impart knowledge in a playful way through small projects or everyday moments.
- Living by example instead of prescribing: We set an example of how important self-care is - even when it comes to sun protection.

📌 Info for parents
Please keep this in mind:
- Bring your child to nursery in the morning with cream on.
- Equip it with suitable clothing (e.g. shirt with sleeves, sun hat).
- Keep a labeled sunscreen in the daycare center that we can use to reapply sunscreen during the day.

Our aim is not only to offer children protection, but also to make them aware of the importance of sun protection at an early age - in an age-appropriate, playful and fun way.
